Disclaimers / site transparency:
- Language used throughout the videos above is still very AFAB-centric. 🙁
- LivingWithEndometriosis.org does not have any paid affiliation with any of the Endometriosis organisations.
- This website is a one-person blog, run by Steph.
- Steph has had two pelvic laparoscopies for Endometriosis. The last surgery was performed by Dr. Linda Giudice, who is a close friend of Dr. Nezhat, who makes annual appearances at the Worldwide Endometriosis Conference / EndoMarch, and who is a board member (or used to be) for Orilissa (which Steph has refused to take, along with all GnRH and all hormonal treatments due to prior history of reactions and side effects).
- After the second surgery resulted in internal injury, Steph opted for a combination of waiting for menopause, and managing pain with prescribed narcotics (which had to repeatedly be fought for tooth and nail). Steph is currently in menopause and has vastly reduced pain levels, and has now had to fight to get transvaginal ultrasounds and scans at yearly to two-year intervals to keep an eye on the endometriosis, because doctors no longer think it’s ‘necessary’ to get these things done so often once a person hits menopause.
